Privacy Policy

Ad Astra HoldCo Limited ("we", "us") operates Aqua Directory at aqua-directory.co.uk. Company number: 16884640. Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX.

Aqua Directory is a business-to-business directory. The vast majority of information on the platform is business information — company names, addresses, services, and accreditations — which is either publicly available or submitted by businesses about themselves. This policy explains the limited personal data we do handle.

1. What data we collect and why

Contractor account holders

When a representative of a business creates an account, we collect their email address and password (hashed, managed by Supabase Auth). This is necessary to operate the account. All other information associated with a listing (company name, address, services, accreditations, etc.) is business information, not personal data.

Buyer enquiries

When a buyer submits an enquiry through a contractor's listing, we collect their name, email address, phone number, and the content of their message. This is shared with the relevant contractor and retained so both parties have a record of the enquiry. Legal basis: legitimate interests (connecting buyers with contractors is the core purpose of the platform).

Business outreach

We may contact businesses operating in the water hygiene and legionella compliance sector to let them know about the directory. We do this using publicly available business contact details (e.g. from Companies House, trade association registers, and industry directories).

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the opt-in requirement for marketing emails does not apply to corporate subscribers (limited companies, LLPs, PLCs). Contacting a water hygiene company about a water hygiene directory is clearly relevant to their business. We always identify ourselves clearly, explain why we are in touch, and include a simple one-click opt-out. We honour all opt-outs permanently and immediately.

Technical data

Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) are collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) and used solely for security and operational purposes. We may also use analytics cookies — see our Cookie Policy.

2. Who we share data with

• Supabase — database and authentication (EU-based storage). Supabase Inc, USA; Standard Contractual Clauses in place.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe Payments Europe Ltd (regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland). We never see or store card details.
• Resend — email delivery. Resend Inc, USA; Standard Contractual Clauses in place.
• Vercel — hosting. Vercel Inc, USA; Standard Contractual Clauses in place.

We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties for their own marketing.

3. How long we keep data

• Buyer enquiries: 2 years, then deleted
• Contractor accounts: for the life of the account, plus 6 years after closure
• Opt-outs: indefinitely — so we never re-contact people who have unsubscribed

4. Your rights

Where we hold personal data about you, you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port it, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@aqua-directory.co.uk. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
