TMV Servicing Frequency Guide for Facilities Managers
Thermostatic mixing valves reduce scalding risk, but neglected valves can create maintenance issues and affect temperature control at outlets.
Servicing frequency should reflect risk assessment findings, manufacturer guidance, user vulnerability, water quality, and the history of valve performance.
Record set temperatures, fail-safe checks, strainers, cleaning, defects, parts replaced, and any valve that cannot be accessed or tested properly.
Repeated failures may point to debris, poor balancing, inadequate hot water temperatures, pressure issues, or valves that are no longer suitable for the outlet.
Coordinate TMV servicing with legionella monitoring so safe delivery temperatures and system control are considered together.
