Little-used outlets are a common source of stagnation risk, particularly in meeting rooms, vacant units, seasonal areas, cleaners cupboards, and rarely used showers.

Create a clear outlet register with names that match the building so site teams can find and flush the right locations.

Flushing records should show the outlet, date, responsible person, duration or method, and any issue such as poor flow, unusual temperature, or discolouration.

Where an outlet is genuinely redundant, removal is usually better than relying on indefinite flushing that may be missed.
